{"id":36,"date":"2008-01-28T00:18:59","date_gmt":"2008-01-28T00:18:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.guamnesty.org.uk\/blog\/2008\/01\/stall-info-and-pics\/"},"modified":"2008-01-28T00:55:26","modified_gmt":"2008-01-28T00:55:26","slug":"stall-info-and-pics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.guamnesty.org.uk\/2008\/01\/stall-info-and-pics\/","title":{"rendered":"Stall Info and Pics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As you all should be aware, we recently had a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guamnesty.org.uk\/blog\/2008\/01\/raise-off-stall\/\">stall<\/a> to raise awareness of Guant\u00c3\u0192\u00c2\u00a1namo Bay being open for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guamnesty.org.uk\/blog\/2007\/11\/guantanamos-sixth-anniversary\/\">six years<\/a>, and as part of the raise-off. The event involved distributing leaflets and giving out information on Guant\u00c3\u0192\u00c2\u00a1namo and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unsubscribe-me.org\/unsubscribe.php\" title=\"unsubscribe\">unsubscribe<\/a>; selling cakes and confectionary; and selling hand-made mini-cages (which were very popular!).<\/p>\n<p>It also involved me (robert) and Jonny (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.guamnesty.org.uk\/contacts.html\">see what we do<\/a>) going down Byres Road to talk to people about it &#8211; and sell more cakes! The novel part was me being dressed in a bright orange jumpsuit and blindfolded for the journey. The response was surprisingly good, although Jonny informs me that a few people scattered when they saw us coming! Those that we talked to were very receptive, although perhaps they were a little perturbed by the blindfolded man casually chatting away about unsubscribe and Guant\u00c3\u0192\u00c2\u00a1namo.
